What it is:

A feature that allows radios to automatically send their location updates at specific events, rather than continuously sending updates.

Events can be things like:

Pressing a dedicated button on the radio
When the radio enters or exits a designated geofence area
When the radio detects an emergency event (e.g., panic button press)

This approach reduces battery consumption and network traffic compared to continuous updates.
