Motorola Radio Feature
Lone Worker
NOTE: Video demonstrates both Lone Worker and Emergency Button features.
What it is:
Ensures the safety of single workers by automatically initiating an emergency response if they become incapacitated or unresponsive.
How it Works:
- Users can activate the Lone Worker feature manually on their radio before starting their solitary work session.
- The radio starts a timer (configurable duration).
- During the timer period:
- The user can perform a periodic check-in (typically by pressing a button) to reset the timer.
- If no check-in is received within the pre-defined timeframe, the radio automatically triggers an emergency alert.
Emergency Alert:
The alert can include:
- Sending a pre-recorded message or text notification to designated supervisors or dispatch.
- Initiating a voice call to pre-programmed contacts.
- In some configurations, transmitting the worker's location data (if GPS is enabled and supported).
Benefits:
- Enhanced worker safety: Provides a safety net for lone workers, ensuring help arrives promptly in an emergency.
- Improved peace of mind: Both workers and their supervisors can have a sense of security knowing an automated system monitors their well-being.
- Increased productivity: Allows workers to focus on their tasks without constantly worrying about raising an alarm if something goes wrong.
Additional Information:
- The specific functionalities and configuration options for Lone Worker may vary depending on the radio model and software version.
- Lone Worker is often used in conjunction with other features like:
- Man Down: Automatically detects if the worker falls or becomes motionless.
- GPS Location Tracking: Provides real-time location data for emergency responders.
